Passez une retraite dans la joie et le bonheur, tel est le souhait de toutes les personnes âgées. Grâce aux nombreux clubs de retraités présents en Corse, nombreuses sont ceux et celles qui passent une retraite heureuse.

Presque dans chaque ville de Corse se trouve un club sénior : Bastia, Saint Florent ou encore Ajaccio. Parmi les maisons de retraite, les plus appréciées dans la région sont la Résidence Agosta à Porticcio, la Maison de Retraite Jeanne d’Arc à Vico et l’U Serenu à Corte. L’une des plus célèbres est toutefois la Maison Notre-Dame. Cet établissement accueille, depuis 1891, les personnes âgées les plus nécessiteuses. Cette maison de retraite a une capacité d’accueil de 82 lits. Toutes les personnes vivant au sein de cet établissement bénéficient de lieux de vie adaptés et chaleureux. Chaque chambre est médicalisée et offre un bon confort à son occupant.

Les animations sont au rendez-vous dans la plupart des maisons de retraite en Corse. Parmi les établissements qui proposent des animations aux personnes âgées se trouvent l’Association Marie Stella à Saint Florent, la Maison de retraite Le Ciste à Ajaccio ou encore la Balbi Prévoyance à Furiani. Les responsables accordent une importance capitale au volet animation. Grâce à l’ambiance de fête, les professionnels préviennent la dépression chez les personnes âgées tout en leur garantissant une retraite joyeuse et active. Parmi les activités proposées durant l’animation s’alignent les ateliers de mémoire, la rééducation perceptivomotrice, l’éveil sensoriel et les activités ludiques en tout genre. La plupart des maisons de retraite ne facturent pas les séances d’animation. Il s’agit d’une méthode qui leur permet de donner aux séniors l’opportunité d’entretenir leur condition physique et leur mémoire. Certains établissements vont même jusqu’à inviter les familles de ces personnes en vue de renforcer les liens familiaux.
